Can I get some Wiki editing help please!

Post by friznit »

I'm trying to tidy up the ArmA wiki I've been working on here but the formatting won't do what it's told. Edit the page to see what I'm trying to do - lists seem to lose their formatting somehow.

Also, how do I change the title of the page from 'Op Flashpoint' to 'Armed Assault'? Although I've bundled the two together for sake of simplicity ArmA is the more recent game and should take precedence.

I also need to put a more obvious link in at the top to the ArmA mods list (which also appears to be broken - Edit: fixed) but can't work out how to do that.

Final one, on the Mod list, is there a way I can get a little icon in there to show which ones are installed on the server, optional and just nice to have?

Admittedly I am shit at Wiki editting, but if you could be so kind as to let me know how to do it, I will get better :)

http://www.5punk.co.uk/wiki/index.php?t ... ed_Assault

have set redirects up from OFP and Operation Flashpoint too. (The easiest way to rename a page is just to copy and paste the content into the desired new page, btw ;))

edit: http://www.5punk.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3145 may be handy for some formatting etc.

Perfect, thanks. What's the wiki code for a line break?

AFAIK (and I'm no expert by any means) wiki's aren't meant to have line breaks as such, the formatting is done with paragraphs, lists etc . Simply pressing return doesn't work.
If you absolutely got-to, have-to, really-want-on-pain-of-pain need line breaks, then I cheat with wiki's by using the Preformatted text.

Here is more formatting help here.
