Is this going to be console only then? Can't see reference to PCs anywhere in what I've read about it, although the 360 is going to get exclusive episodic content apparently.
I was pleased to have a massive monster truck to go blasting round in, but frustrated that I could never complete the final helicopter training thing with Gold rating. Could never land it exactly where I needed to on the runway.
On my second time through the game I stopped at the point in the final city where you have to seduce that casino employee for one of the main missions. Just couldn't quite be bothered to complete it again, but certainly enjoyed the game enough the first time round.
I wasn't a big fan of SA. GTA 3 was groundbreaking, which made it very good. VC was almost the same, but the 80s theme and especially the real music made it better than GTA 3 for me. SA was more of the same, but without the 80s theme. I didn't like the music much and I'd got a bit bored with the GTA style of play.

I didn't realise they could make GTA games differently... That said, I enjoyed all the GTAs thus far but didn't touch on San Andreas because I saw no reason to, nothing innovative, no new ideas, same shit different city. I'll be interested to see how they fill their "Living, Breathing City" in a new and exciting way. Though I really doubt they will.
My interest in the series plummeted not far into SA, not that there was anything bad about SA, just that there wasn't really anything new enough in the series to keep me going. I'll check out GTA IV's trailer, but I don't have any real hopes or expectations.
I don't think they could change GTA very much, without it not being GTA anymore. Although things they can definitely improve: Include a multiplayer (Maybe? No?), Graficks, and maybe some more openness to the game? I guess this is less likely if content is 'episodic' as its going to be fairly rigid.
Oh fuck yes! It didn't exactly show much, but good god was it pretty. Seems like the game will be set in modern day New York. What an ugly lovely town.

This, only with slightly less enthusiasum. I'm only interested if it comes out on PC really, unless I end up with a <strike>next</strike> current generation console, which is currently very unlikely.
Trailer looks most awesome, can't wait for the game :D
Also: I'm another SA hater. Don't get me wrong, the engine itself was far better then any other GTA before it but a combination of black culture not appealing to me (i'm white bread, yo!), not-as-great music and lack of humour made SA quite disappointing for me.
For me GTA peaked with Vice City, especially with the 80's music 8D.
