HARDWARE - Portable MP3 player

Right then, for £60-£80, what's thye best value Portable MP3 Player out there, and where can I get one from?

Basically my sister wants something with 512MB, and preferably a built in rechargable battery, but if not, a rechargable AAA battery will suffice.

I've not really looked into the portable MP3 players before, as I've bought a Hard Disk player instead, so I'm not too sure on whats out there, and what's the best value for money

As much as I'm unsure of the Shuffle, it's certainly the best combination of Hardware/Software in the flash MP3 player market.

I havn't looked at them, but aren't shuffles more expensive than players that do just the same stuff (or more) for less? Plus there's the expensive white headphone things

I got a USB 2.0 512MB player made by a company called Phison for $65 including shipping. It's definetly a cheapo brand (it doesn't play my 320Kbps MP3s right, I have to downgrade them to 160K) and there is no screen but you can't beat that price.

I do think that the iPod Shuffle is a good idea though.

iPod shuffle is a USB stick. Unless you want it to dangle from your computer, then you don't need a cable. It also charges from the USB port.

If there's not enough space around your USB connector, and it doesn't send power through the port, then I wouldn't really advise buying any extension cables and power adapters, I'd simply point you in the direction of a decent motherboard.
