Another long standing member leaves ISS, and some hot news..

Post by friznit »

For those of you still interested in the happenings of our former Alliance, this may be of interest. WHT, one of the last long standing members of ISS, has left. Suffice to say that Geminate should never had happened - it was a clear case of a where the dictatorial/veto leadership model can fall over. Management discussed the purchase of these stations in some detail, intially said it'd be a bad idea, but following the fall of C3 we pretty much all fell in alongside Count rather than sticking to our guns and pushing for empire only. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I fear that the friction of R-K/Smash on the one hand and Privateers on the other following so soon after a withering war sounded the death knell of ISS. I only hope for their sake that this new plan gives them the relative peace and calm they so desparately need to rebuild and recover, even if it means being a BoB pet. Thankfully no isk ever changed hands for IPS. The caravan fleet idea is a lofty goal with the much reduced horse they have now at their disposal, but if successful will be very interesting (and profitable).

Meanwhile, on the home front: everyone seems to be happy ticking along in empire at the moment and the last thing I want is to put people under any pressure to move or join another alliance. I think it will become very plain when we've had enough of mission running and mining veldspar and I hope to have various options ready for the corp by then. To that end I will be discussing ideas with all of you over the coming weeks and meanwhile, I'd like everyone to ensure they have their personal admin sorted - ships, isk, insurance and kit sorted out.

Some news.

First the bad, or annoying, news: We’re pulling out of IPS. The reason is quite simply that Cruel Intentions couldn’t live up to their contractual obligations related to the outpost sale. The political stability, the NAP’s, never materialised. Without the NAP’s, the investment that the outposts would represent for ISS couldn’t deliver a satisfying return on investment. Or, in other words: constant raiding= no mining= no refining tax. This was bad for the members too. The IPS deal was supposed to replenish our empty wallets but this proved impossible.

Anyway, to the good news.

BOB welcome us into their territories. We’re currently negociating an arrangement which will be similar in scope to the arrangement we had with Lotka Volterra on ISS Calico in C3-0YD. It’ll probably be a couple of weeks for that deal to be finalised.

Meanwhile, we’re launching the first Caravan Fleet. In the past couple of weeks, Survey Division have been busy gathering intelligence on the new regions, market data as well as political intel, and they have a plan for the first Fleet launch. It’s going to be damn exciting. In order to simplify logistics, we’re launching it from Forge region. Operational details will be posted shortly.

I serously doubt ISS can afford the rates with it's current membership for a complex system :P

Well I'll hardly call it a suprise that ISS were booted out of the IPS constellation. IPS unfortunately is too good an area to simply let go, Cruel Intentions were never going to honour anything (These are the same guys who came back to hand ESA a beating once we had bought BWF and 8MG off of E-U). To hold the system and keep it ISS would have had to go in guns blazing, it's what E-U did and no one challenged them.

I did warn Count that IPS was a bad idea due to it being too close to Empire and one of the main routes through to RK/SMASH territory, both of whom don't want a non-friendly/neutral alliance controlling their front door. I hope all goes well for them in BoB land, but until this war is done ISS will not exist as you guys once knew it.

SSE also left now, and the last corp that founded ISS, Angels of darkness, will most likely leave as well.

Initial offer from bob was fethaybolis... My reaction was: HELLLL NOOO. Hope to get some nice and most important QUIET system, preferably far far away from empire.
