I'm tempted but I know what will happen. I'll buy it, play it for an hour, my brain will hurt and that will be the end of it.

edit: Maybe I'll fire up the sweep-o-matic steal-o-tron

This was my fear, as it is generally what happens when I attempt to beard these days. However, I'm willing to give it a go. How easy is it to play without dualscreeniality, since several people cried fail until they used 2 screens.

I doubt dual screens makes much difference, the only advantage would be being able to zoom in on one screen and have the full map on the other but I'm quite happy zooming out to see the map when needed.

It isn't too complex, the included tutorial videos explain everything well and once you've watched those its just a matter of experimenting with building different things. You only have to manage two resources, mass and energy so its simple enough.

You can do fake dual screen by splitting the display down the middle if you want a permanent large overview map, there is also just a mini overview map available as well, and you can very quickly scroll out from looking at one unit to looking at the whole map.

However... Dual screen makes for super-extra-win-tiem

Well I'll see if I can actually get it to work before I start to worry too much about anything else! Maybe once I've eventually upgraded to a 8800 then I'll think about dual-screen, unless the 19" monitor has totally died and been thrown from a great height onto a hard surface.

Well I'm running it on dual screen (one of which is 1920x1200) from a 7800 GS, and it works,

By no means super slick but it's not too bad

I had it running dual screen on my old machine. Second monitor was in shit-o-vision, but it worked fine.
