Can anyone help me charm a bear?

I'm trying to get a black bear as a pet, but the damned things keep doing their break charm stuff to me. I need someone to distract it, or idealy, disable its skills so I can run in there and do my charm animal. Anyone out there able?

Ask a mesmer they have a take away skill/spell thing, i think.
