Joint Operations Typhoon Rising and Escalation Expansion

Post by Chickenz »

Ok I have mentioned this before on these forums and on TS, Joint Ops has all the making of a 5punk fave. It's basically Battlefield 2 ugly cousin, the majority of models come straight from Novalogics Black Hawk Down pc game.

Just been playing this with a mate over LAN and it's a total blast on COOP. Him covering me with a sniper whilst I ran around like a lost kitten with a gun. And then I wandered off to backflip the motorbikes over his head, to his annoyance. This would be a new 5punk game as bukkake could host a server, theres no need to point whore, it'll run on any system thats less than 4 years old, you can drive jeeps out of chinooks for OTT cartillery, can shoot whilst parachuting, theres loads of maps as standard and it is loads of fun. No doubt Berk could :sweep: and then provide a link to the DL, we were playing with the same key so it;s easy to ham and cheese.

Give it a :sweep: and at least give it a shot, you can even get it for eight pounds on play.com if you wanted to.

Ohh, I'll have a look into this, I remember hearing about this before, is this the one with no bullet drop whatsoever?

I remember playing the demo many years ago before the release of BF2 and absolutely loving it. If I remember correctly you can have up to 150 people in a server, which was just crazy awesome. I'd definitely :sweep: it if others are willing to play.

I'm going to need to clean out my dustpan, then I'll get sweeping.

Hmmm, I'm having trouble finding a good bit of floor to sweep from. Not enough people seem to be dropping it. If anyone can point me in the right direction then I'm willing to give this a go.

If I can drag myself kicking and screaming away from Armed Assault long enough I'll give it a go. But ArmA is really quite cool and is also awesome coop with other 5punkers - only 2 of us at the moment but we're having a total blast.

Novalogic are a bunch of flids.

No true dedicated server.
No way to start a server automatically.
Need a graphics card to start a server.

Just about worked around it so far, but not convenient. :x

only played a very little bit yesterday, after bothering everyone with questions on how to get it to work.
it was quite fun though; gravity defying motorcycles ftw! but i found the controls a bit difficult and complicated.

THAT :above:

for those that haven't played with it yet: think semi-realistic beef with objective based coop goodness

In case Novalogic fucked up and have issued duplicate keys on the games we've all bought *ahem* should we maybe check off who is using which key so as to avoid duplication? Maybe Berk could co-ordinate this if its not too difficult - be a key-master of sorts?

Thats what I meant - maybe you could drop one key to each person, so we know they're all different. Would be a pain to have to spend time discovering which key is not taken.
