Espionage, the 5punky way. Or perhaps more correctly, a political and commercial analysis wing. I'd like someone to take the lead on this. It's an exercise for interest more than anything but might prove useful. Here's the background to the idea:

There's a big wide [Eve] world out there full of self important smack talking tard we are so l33t we pwn D2 with their liek bajillion ships and titanz lolz. Outside of ISS and the South East of New Eden I have very little idea about the political landscape. SMASH? Pure? CDC? Ka-tet? Privateers? There's loads out there. I can guess who's side they're on but I need more details. Where did they come from? Relative strengths? Industrial capacity? Internal politics? Are they expansionist? Sleeping lions? Carebears with teeth?

They all have forums, killboards, public channels, posts on Eve-O. Between us we probably know someone who knows someone in every alliance in game. Pick an alliance at random, do some digging, see what you can find out about them and post a short summary here.

Anyone want to be the 5punkmaster General for this?

Cult Of War

Alot of the old -V- guys who didn't join CA (Curse you LD

) are Cow. By default they're on LVs side, but it's not really a strong relationship, as they're more enemies of CA than anything. Currently living in southern molten heath (the low sec part) and northern great wilderlands, they've been performing hit and runs against CA since CA was formed. I'm aware of them having a small capital fleet, as in a shared intel channel I'm in they've mentioned once or twice about what nice loot CA POS tend to drop, but dunno how strong that is.

Alliance Type: Full on PVPers
Average Gang Strength: 20-30 guys (from what I've seen)

Diplomatic contacts, leaders and key corp names would be nice too if you know them. Perhaps we could come up with a template

There is an existing post on the eve-o forums with diplomatic contacts for the major alliances, and some of the smaller ones.

Dunno how reliable it is but it's a start.

i know one of the head recruiters for Ka-Tet and have had talks in the past with having my alt Red join up and see how it is out there. Only thing that is holding me back is the SP requirements. Short only 350k now so I can have info for you then. They know I am in ISS with DP, so not sure on exact intel I can give but I could find out a general understanding for you. Let you know something hopefully by this weekend.
