What to do if it all goes Pete Tong?
OK. Here's another of my favourite corp discussion threads. Leading on from the polls we did a while back on the Future of 5punkorp and your playing priorities, here's the next question (think of it as Option 2). Oh, and worth checking out the current episode of Eve-Tribune for some background reading too. So, wtf happens if we:
Win
That is to say, LV-BOB and pets hold out long enough that the hostile coalition falls apart, get smacked back in their box, and BoB goes offensive on D2. Or something. If this happens I can see 5punkorp staying in ISS for some time to come, enjoying the carebearing in 'rifis and playing the new ISS game which sounds quite interesting. Then again, ISS is proving once again that they don't have the stomach for PvP and can't defend shit when the chips are down, which has pissed off more than one of us. Might be there's somewhere better to go - but we'll be on the winning side therefore 'desirable'.
Draw
Eve enters a titan cold war, with endless farting about between LV/Goons on the one hand and BoB/D2 on the other. ISS left playing footsy with IAC and alternately camping each other into their home systems. Lucrative position to be in for the new ISS business model. Unless in the unlikely event of 5punkorp finding a better opportunity elsewhere, I can only see us staying put. Anything else would entail switching sides or joining a non-alliance like UCE (UCE = ISS before we had outposts) cos no other fucker would want us.
Lose
LV collapses, BoB end up fighting for their existance in NOL, all the pets get ejected from 0.0 by the Swarm. ISS will be gone long before it reaches this state of course. So what does empire 5punky do? Stay in ISS and carry out the market resupply to anyone who'll let us to make big iskies as per the Caravan thing? Or bugger off and go pirate for a bit until the shitstorm passes over a we can join an alliance who can wipe their own arse without having momma hold their hand?
Either way we fall, I'm sticking with 5punkorp cos you guys rock. In the end it doesn't matter what you do in a multiplayer game as long as you do it with people you like. 5punk found me, I like it, and I'm fucking staying. Tough titties.
DISCUSS!

I agree with you Fwiznit, and on the point of if we lose then I vote out of ISS, piss about in empire for a couple of weeks, find somewhere else to go and do that. Personally unless certain member corps start pulling their weight more and more people come to defend C3, ISS will lose and I'll be sick of ISS. But that's just my opinion.
I would love to stay with ISS, but should the brown stinky proverbial hit the big spinny thing with velocitous magnitude I wouldn't mind trying my hand at pirating for a short while (but proper fighting, not just picking off hapless travellers) rather than make a snap decision and join some crappy alliance. I don't know how long that feeling would last for me though as i've put too much time into being a carebear to turn my back on it

friz where u go i go. if we leave iss and do pirating lets lock hoth down. pirate everyone and everything there. you ammatar mission runners got a lvl 4 there and they pay good isk from what i have seen.
keep up the exploration fellas, just got my anathema but i think i want T2 cruise missiles first though instead of working on all those survey skills. which gets me to something else. How many in this corp can scan someone down fast? I don't know how to do it and I wouldn't be surprised if others do too. So if one of these days someone could take me and who ever out to learn I would be appreciative.

I agree also, certainly for the win / draw options
In the event of the lose outcome I rekon we're all a bit used to 0.0 access to give it up for more than a short while, if for no other reason than income. It would be a great opportunity to start taking the meta-corp idea a bit more to heart, perhaps setting up a carebear outfit (for those who want it) and go join UCE or something (are they still around?) and a small PvP corp
I for one would like to learn better how to PvP and i know that the best way to do that is to go out and do it. This is something that I could do unilaterally but I think it would be funerer as a corp. A short spell with teh Pirates in Privateers might be interesting... OTOH, I appreciate that there's plenty an opportunity to do this in the current situation, playtiem is somewhat limited for me atm due to work, which is just an excuse for laziness really

5punkorp really does not have enough members for this, it would just split us all up, and be pants.bomberesque wrote:It would be a great opportunity to start taking the meta-corp idea a bit more to heart, perhaps setting up a carebear outfit (for those who want it) and go join UCE or something (are they still around?) and a small PvP corp

Whether we win, lose or draw I'm not too bothered, all three options sound like fun to me. Obviously I'd prefer to win so we can keep our isk source but if it does all go wrong, as bomber says, privateers might be fun as a temporary thing while we find somewhere else to go.

Is Joining MC a viable option?
Their alliance gets all the pvp they ever want. They get to mix it up and not go after the same targets time after time. Their carebares mine all day long and their industrialists build and build to feed their war machine.
And they win.
Somthing like this would be my vote. It's the best of everything. Now, would 5punk be able to move over there as a whole? Or is it an invite only thing..
I dunno, i've always admired their alliance even when they did stiff ISS as they didn't wanna risk their cap fleet in somthing senseless.
Anyhow, just another log for the fire.

AInt gonna happen, MC is invite only. and narf, 5punk wouldnt be invited (Curriculum Vitae: well, we fought for a bit, but we got rolled over by IAC. but we're good! Honest......)Miro Mishu wrote:Is Joining MC a viable option?

AFAIK, MC do all of their carebearing in house, and live off the contracing fees. the fact that they can afford to live off their contracting fees tells you exactly how damn good they are.

What about that idea you tossed around before Friz? The one were we "contract" out to alliances for carebearing duties/ship building etc?
That's basically what ISS is planning to do. Nice thing is it works whether the Syndicate is in empire or 0.0 and we have the IPO to kick it off with. If we leave though it's an option for something 5punkorp could look into on a corp to corp scale (happens quite alot - pirate corps give 'protection' to a bunch of carebears in return for mining/building exclusively for them at under market rates).traveyb wrote: /me slaps rabbit

What if we go our own way in the ISS situation?
Just a thought, when on a certain night last week, (when I couldn't play much due to Daddy Duties), there was an IAC pos that was put up without guns. Rather than put it into reinforced, a gang went out to harass IAC. All of my intel is secondhand, but we were hesitant to break up the attack horse for our own agenda. Wouldn't putting a POS into reinforced have been a great opportunity?
Anyway, we have a couple capital pilots, everyone else can fly at least a BS well, I wonder if we shouldn't organize a 5punk gang and deal some damage for ISS. That way we might have a chance to win! (Defense is great, but it's not going to get rid of enemy POS's!)
I'm with 5punk, no matter what. 0.0 is fun, but I think we could farm level 4 agents for isk and implants and salvage goodies to get us into a 5punky cap fleet. Then we can flex our muscles in some remote place and listen to the pods whimper.

I must say last night was GREAT fun! IAC where doing the usual "look at us, we are camping your station" (n00bs). So a RISE FC came in and we just kept warping into the station, pewpew warp back out without many losses! I think in the first half hour, we took down 2 BS for 2 cruisers and a frig (or something like that).
Like I said on that night, having opinions is great, splitting up a defense gang to go take down an enemy pos and splitting iss' already limited strength due to people pissing around and not helping on tranq, or just messing around on sisi, is not a good idea.centerededgedesign wrote:What if we go our own way in the ISS situation?
