Yeah, watching a download on my pc the quality looks much worse because I'm watching a 576x720 file at 1920x1200, on my TV (through Xbox media center) I can watch it in my living room at the press of a button in quality equal to normal TV.

I'm not dissing normal TV or the sky plus method (if I had it I'd love it) and I do watch a fair amount of normal TV but for the TV programmes I'm interested in it's all about availabilty, I can watch it first via download at the same quality whenever I want.

If I didn't watch it via downlaod I'd have to wait until it was on UK TV and watch it when broadcast becasue I don't have sky plus, I can also keep it for as long as I want and burn it to a DVD to give to mates/family
:above: This

Ever since getting my Wii sorted with t'interwebs, I've been watching lots of streaming gubbins on my big widescreen telly. Although the bottom half of the Wii browser is fucking huge (which can detract from the viewing pleasures), whatever I'm watching (24 HD Widescreen courtesy of our friends in US and A at the mo) fills the screen nicely :).

I guess this could easily become one of those oft discussed topics where there is no right or wrong answer. You may remember it from such questions as:

Religion vs Science
faaabulous vs Straight
Good vs Evil
limitless others

There's no right or wrong answer, we have personal preference and circumstances to thank for that.

As you were.

Pfft!

I kind of switch between the two. HD telly with Sky+ HD for some (but very little) UK stuffs in the front room, Wii streaming or 'puter streaming for America stuffs in the bedroom. I used Sky+ on Saturday night to record something on MTV2 (DJ Shadow's takeover of Barrio 19) but for things like heroes, scrubs, 24 I stream them.

Fucking hell this really is one of the best TV series I've ever seen. Episode 14 was fantastic, a few more twists and turns, but not annoyingly (like in Lost).

The downside is that my tea is always cold by the time it's finished - I'm too engrossed to eat.

Well, ep14 was interesting. Better than last weeks imho. Tis about bleeding time peter started getting some level of control over his abilities, and I'm really begining to wonder just exactly what it is linderman can do. Sorta reminds me of The Hatian, but reversed :?

I haven't seen the latest episode yet but in the 13 ...

Also the copy of 13 I downloaded was excellent, better than DVD quality on my LCD TV, was 700+MB but I wish they were all that size now.

:above: I've been grabbing the big ones since about 13, too. I almost feel like I cheating somehow, being able to read computer screens and stuff, which you can't normally on a TV.

Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:How exactly do you do in-game benchmarks anyway?

I've never done one so I haven't a clue.
I assume you change the settings to whatever resolution etc, fire the game up, then show FPS or something?
on some games, fraps can be handy too.

then again, other games have built in benchmarking stuff.

Woot, episode sixteen was exceptionally good.
I like Claude's "I'mma beat you with a stick until you learn to use your powers" approach to training Peter.

Ah, shit, thanks for reminding me. I set it off first thing and forgot about it. My share ratio is like 9.6!
