Smokin' Aces

Look what comes out in the U.K this Friday (click image for link)

Looks like a good old fashioned mindless violence film that doesn't take itself very seriously at all.

You can view the trailers here http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/smokinaces/hd/

Hmmmm. I'm not a fan of mindless violence - at least not the stuff that makes you cringe. Is there going to be some semblence of a story to interest me in it? The trailers didn't really inspire me.

Got round to seeing this last week, and it was reasonably entertaining. acceptable goor, something resembling a plot. One or two scenes that really made me laugh. Worth seeing 8)

Yeah that :above: :above:
i mean, its good to meet up with mates is nice, but id rather go to a bar or bowling or something. Paying £8+ or whatever to see some shit you can download, with kids chatting, sticky floors, popcorn mess, uncomftable seats, overpriced snacks, endless adverts and no booze just doesnt do it for me anymore.

I love the big screen and loud noise of the cinema, but I hate having my film ruined (which takes very little for me) by idiots. I usually only go when it's very quiet so to avoid kids and arseholes.

A mate at work hated this. I generally trust his opinion I would expect him to like this kind of thing. My expectations have been lowered for when I get around to watching this on DVD.

I saw this movie yesterday, and the best way to say it is, that this movie "X3'd" me. I went in expecting something decent, get delivered a pile of shit instead. I hated this movie.

Also a film to avoid: Deja vu.

Starts off boring, although a few hundred people die which is cool. Nobody in the entire film has deja vu even one time. Instead people see the past using a machine (which uses science obviously) and is mainly a mystery whodunit type film, with an ending so weak and 'hollywood' that it completely destroys it.
A few of the 'hints' to the mystery get blatantly ignored and to me it's fairly obvious the entire film plot was changed half way through simply to keep the pretty effects.

Which is a shame because at one stage i almost started to enjoy it. Almost.
