The Wire

Post by Sheriff Fatman »

Recently acquired the first series of this excellent US Police drama. If you are tired of the shiny CSI style stuff this might be the thing for you.

It uses a large cast and, in some cases, the acting can be a bit off, but on the whole it is a dark and gritty view on police life.

Worth a look.

Filmed in my town. The show is the realest showing of what our inner cities in the US are like for the poor. The 3rd season shows the light on the boys and girls in elementary on up. Great show but so sad how thats our society and still no one will do anything to correct it. CSI and all the others next to the Shield are crap and Hollywood. bitComet the show and you will be glad you did.

I'm glad a few people are giving this a try.

Just finished Series 1, and I will definitely be sweeping the next series.

Along with Heroes, 24 and Skins this is a must watch for me.

I have just watched episodes 1, 2 and 3 of season 1. It is rather good.

I have all 4 seasons pre- :sweep: awaiting my viewing.

S1 is 83.3% @ 4.7kB/s - seed it you barsts.

Oh well, I have season 3 of SG1 and 2 of Sleeper Cell for now. I've had Sky for about 18 years and never watched any of those Sky One-type series, now that I've cancelled it, I want to see them all. Well, not Lost, that sounds wank.

I had a sweeping spree a while back and I think it included series 1 of this, but I haven't watched it yet. I probably should. Stuck halfway through series 5 of 24 but without the will to watch the rest yet. Watching Black Donnellys too, which is quite good.

I couldn't get into season 2 so gave up and released the megabytes.

I'm sure you'll tell me I'm missing out tho.

The Thread That Spanned <s>1000 Years</s> 2 Years

I've just finished really enjoying the first season. It's as good as people keep going on about, mos def. And I don't even really like cop shows.
