hmmmmn

Q's system of splitting the loot seems like a good start, now that I've mined and seen the outcome. I do wonder on a couple points though...

We mined ALOT on Saturday, and the sheet lists an outcome of (Oh sod, it's gone now) I think 300mil. Twas because we also mined all the low ends clean in a belt to stock up the ship arrays. Those are going to be required as well, and will need to figure into the total, thus (I believe) lowering it somewhat. Not that selling the ships isn't going to make the corp money as well, but it isn't going to make the members any money.

What about the following idea, (just to be the devil's advocate) besides the corp ops, each crew of miner/haulers moves their ore to Serenity, and sells the ore to the corp at 80% LOCAL market value, or moves it themselves. That, or build ships themselves for use or sale. Twas what I did with Fw4ppers ops, the total ores were split with all members attending, with the corp getting a share equal to other members. Then the best refiner refined it, and offered the members either their share of ore, or 80% of the value if they wanted a 'quick buyout'. (The 80% value was based on the average of the top 3 sell and top 3 buy order prices from local) then the corp had the opportunity to sell at market price if wanted to make a profit on the ores it had bought, or just keep them for production. In that manner, the (albeit smaller) corp managed to make money and build a good amount of ore off small empire ops. (Near the end we built a BS for Fab without too much pain). We sold ALOT of trit to buy high ends, and mined almost everything else in Khank. And that was all accomplished by including the corp as an equal partner on more frequent small ops, which happened more often because people were paid. They weren't paid the max they could have been, but they didn't have to move a hauler full of ore 37 jumps either. But they did have the choice, and all it took was the calculator ingame and a few trade windows at the end of the op.

This of course is not proposing changing the Sunday Ops. The corp provides the POS, the shippy building arrays, and ammo and ratting stuffs we need. The corp needs to make money to keep doing this! I'm just saying that the rest of the week could be done through the work of small groups working together, rather than leaving a portion of their work to be handled by somebody else.

But the small ops would alleviate one person having to move the ore, that's a fair bit of work that is taking up somebody's GAMING time. Spread the work over many small groups, with a sheet to track what's been mined and what's not, so people don't spend an hour finding a good place to mine when they come on. And if people decided to sell to the corp, (if the corp wants to buy) then make a certain day for it, or set up escrow's. Perhaps the corp will put out buy's for mins, and maybe more than the corp will benefit from our production.

One other side note, is by doing the 'trades' vs. doing corp buy orders, we don't lose a percentage to a broker fee. So the 80% I used in Fw4ppers was actually higher because you avoided fees.

Whoa, I think my Long Post Level 3 is done. I'm going back to training for T2 Bistot

:?

One corp op a week. Rest of the week you do what you want. If you want to sell ore/minerals to the corp for more immediate iskies, speak to Pass. He'll let you know if the corp needs minerals. There's almost always buy orders up in Serenity too.
