Well, maybe not, but what I have found is that I'm slowly getting used to CS:S, and the automatic-shotgun is the ultimate n00b weapon.

It took a while to find my feet in this game, but it all seems to be finally clicking together.

Now all I have to do is memorise the maps in my head (I do this on nearly every single game I've played)

EDIT : How far realistically can you shoot someone with the shotgun? I assume this is it's major downfall :?:

you were playing well last night. :D

you've probably got 20-30 game-feet with any hope at all with a shottie.

agreed, you can get some distance with one of those.. The most satisfying kills are long range shotgun ones. Where the killed yell out "What the FUCK?!" Afterwards.. Heehee.

I reserve use of the shotgun for the office, I don't seem to be able to do much with it unless I'm toe-to-toe.

The shotgun is excellent on office... 'specially the all-shotgun-frenzy matches ;)

I rather like it on Italy too, and I think Sledra likes it on Nickface.

the cheap pump shottie can get some seriously ludicrous long-range shots. I've seen kills on aztec from the DD's to the that bridge room area. Personally, I am getting to love the Famas and the Galil. In fact, I generally do better with a famas than a M4. I've also noticed that the galil is about as accurate as the AK for the first shot, but it takes much longer to recover from the recoil. It seems to be better for spray & pray too. I've gotten multiple 5 or 6 kill rounds using the famas and galil.

Learning the maps is really crucial to being a great CS player, as it will help you know where people will most likely come from and what's the fastest way between 2 points.

The only thing I did differently (other than blasting peoples faces with shotguns) was not use Team Speak at all.

Thinking about it, this is probably a good thing for a new starter, as I am just concentrating on the game, and all the footsteps/gunshots I hear around me.

When playing UT2004 or COD for example, I have been playing these for a while, and feel confident/comfortable with the game, which is why I'm happy to chat at the same time.

However, whilst learning a game, I think Teamspeak can actually make things worse, rather than improve the way you play.
So if you don;t see me on Teamspeak for the next couple of games, I'm not being an ignorant cupcake, I just wanna learn how to play the game properly first
