counter strike/new graphics card

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

counter strike/new graphics card

Post by stroudy1 »

Any advice?? since i installed my new card, counter strike seems to crash whenever i try going on-line with it. It gets to the point where i have to choose a server then just crashes and reboots my pc. I know its not the card cos COD works fantastic with it. Ive tried deleting it then reinstalling but it didnt work!
Thanking you in advance.

It might be that CS doesn't like your new graphics card drivers, you could try reinstalling them. Uninstall them, use Driver Cleaner then reinstall.

You could also try disabling the on-board graphics in your BIOS if you haven't already, wont hurt.

yup, be sure you've got the newest ati drivers installed, cod will probably work fine without them, while CS might not.

Also make sure that the drivers for your old graphics card have been removed entirely.

Your original query was about what card to get so CoD wasn't jerky online, now CS crashes...online - sounds like something networky, so make sure the drivers for your motherboard and/or network card are up to date.

I don't mean the WindowsUpdate ones - go to the manufacturers website and get the latest windows drivers for your stuff, a BIOS update shouldn't be necessary, just the regular drivers.
