Looks like the in-game ads have arrived, and it hints towards some new vehicles being released.

Advertising new in-game vehicles in futurebeef? A poke at the people who complain about it I think
Maybe they're just buttering everyone up for the real thing.

I'd have thought they'd be doing it by now, if it was viable.

Here's a super secret transcript smuggled by my salmon ninja spies from EA HQ from their meeting with potential advertisers, although I'm legally obliged to note that it's vaguely possible that I fabricated it in it's entirety:

Code: Select all

EA: Hello advertisers. Give us some monies. For adverts.
Advertisering People: Erm, how many people are playing your game?
EA: Er, eleventy-thousand.
AP: Hmm, that's not very many, compared to the eleventy-million we get on "Match of the Football" or "Incineration Street"
EA: Give us some smaller monies, then.
AP: Hmm - is the number of playars increasing?
EA: Umm, no. Decreasing.

later

EA: we need a cunning plan to get people to keep playing like give them bonus points towards unlocks for returning to the game something like that

Hmmmm, could be. It wouldn't surprise me if the new vehicle releases came with a new map. It's the first time I've seen these vehicles (the images are blocked at work), but it looks to me like they're trying make the two sides a bit less similar with the EU getting a big, heavily armed APC and the PAC getting a lighter hover APC.

I hadn't thought of that. With Quake Wars potentially not far off I don't think I'll be falling for that one again.
