Terry Patchett's The Hogfather on TV

Post by spoodie »

The Hogfather will be on Sky One on 17th and 18th Dec.

I know there are some fans here so I thought I'd let you know. Although you may have heard about this after the news today of David Jason getting pissed at the premiere (sorry for the Daily Mail link, either that or The Sun).

Is this a DiscWorld book, or one of his other stories.

I've still got to read all the DiscWorld books yet, so if it's one of his other stories, I'll definitely watch it.

Didn't they do one for Johnny And The Bomb recently on TV?
I missed that one

Yep, this Discworld. It's got lots of Death in it, so it's automatically good.
I don't have Sky though, so I'll just hope it's on UKNova.

Yes, it's a book. I've read it but can't remember what happens, even after reading some of that wiki page. It's appropriately Christmasy.

edit: It's bound to be on uknova and I'm sure one of us can share it 5punk torrent if necessary. I probably wont watch it on Sky either because TV is dead.

Good idea moving this to the Entertainment section, whoops.

The woman who plays Susan looks pretty foxy too. Just read the cast list on IMDB and it look quite impressive.

Wyrd Sisters was animated, and it was a bit crap.

I saw a book in waterstones earlier with production stills and the like. It looks funkeh.

Also: I concur, the actress who plays susan is hawt.

Was anyone else disapointed with the first part of this last night?

Death and Albert were ace, however I was left thinking that this has definitely been drawn out, and a scene lasting 10 mins didn't really do that much, or go anywhere.

Just seems very slow, but hopefully tonights episode will be a lot better.

I've not got round to buying/reading hogfather, but from what he was like in Mort, I'm not overly happy with the way Death is. And Albert the gnome? Isn't he ment to be the most powerful wizard in all of the disks history?

That said, I do like Teatime. He should have been a :ninja:

I wasn't that impressed either, although I will be watching the second part tonight.

It did seem a bit slow at the end, switching from one story arch to another without progressing. There were a few jokes but not as many as there should have been. Yes, Death was good and The Watch were quite funny.

All of this :above: but I can't watch the second bit tonight as I have a load of friends coming over for food. I hope it falls on the floor overnight.
