If anyone plays it and is thinking about re-rolling come the expansion pack or moving server we could get together in this thread and stroke our beards.

Unlike the players of a certain space based MMO

In all seriousness, the reason Ive not been playing that much else online recently is that there hasnt been anything online-ey lately to grab my attention, and Ive grown bored of the older shooters.

Add that to the fact ive got a major glut of singleplayer games at the moment...

Any game you enjoy will horse out other games. There's plenty of 5punkers who only play one game (not just the Eve guys) - how often do we get more than a couple of people playing anything but BEEF on the scheduler now?

I think a few WoW players is a good thing, as with any other diversity. I've noticed a few people who've joined up and then faded away again because nobody plays it, so maybe it'll open up a new aspect to 5punk in the same way as Eve has.

'Course I'd recommend City of Heroes instead 'cos I'm getting lonely and I can't be arsed teaming up with randoms.

well I got a couple of alliance PvE toons epixx'd out and a non epixx'd horde PvP server toon, either of wich I can probably transfer, or there is always starting from scratch again as a new race, but to be honest WoW is loosing its grip on me now, I hardly ever play, people are taking it too seriously in guilds I have been in.

I have quite a short attention span for games, which may explain my flitting from every single game ever made to another as the feeling takes me. I'm just waiting for something epic to grab my attention again. Some kind of 'big release' game like Spore or Episode II.

It's a bit rusty but should work fine with a bit of WD40

I have to say I love the idea of the game taking other players' races off the intarweb for use in your single player game. It's sort of like playing multiplayer but without the annoying randoms calling you a n00b.

Pffft, which reminds me; some kid in CoH that called me a n00b twice yesterday for no apparent reason. I blanked him because I can't be arsed working out how the chat system works.

I hate people like that. Fortunately in CoH I'm a defender, so anyone hurling insults ends up dead as a result of not being healed. If you want I can talk you through the chat window. I have to say though I don't tend to chat that much in game with randoms (though I do love to random team). As a result my profile now simply says "laconic"*

*it used to say "loquacious", but I got fed up of explaining the joke.

my mate Davius who joined us is a solid WoW player so this was never going to win against the WoW specific forums he visits......which sucks

I'm quite happy to ignore them - it was actually rather refreshing to be able to just stand there and blank them, whereas in other games thay can't see you doing it. I tried random teaming, but I'm so used to TS that chat felt clumsy and as a result I didn't know what we were supposed to be doing so I've just been soloing since. Advantage of being a tanker is that I don't really need support, I can just wade in and eventually I bash everyone to death.

Forgot to tell you, if you're still quite a low level make sure you get in a team that's doing a Sewers mission (in Atlas) - you get massive XP, often leveling 4 times in half an hour.

It' a pain in the arse at the lower levels, and when you are still learning the finer points of CoH teams, but once you get into more experienced play I have found that most people know the drills and just get on with doing their job without the need for too much chatter.

Wow ruined my friend's life, for real :).

He stopped going to college.
Broke off his engagement.
Moved out of his home. (To stay with his guildmaster)
Lost respect with his family.
Lost respect with his friends (me included).
Lost his job.

Silly silly boy.

haha yeah. True. But still not worth all the other crap.
And to make things juicier, the "fiancee" (I still find it funny saying that) is now going out with another friend of mine. This causes some tension.
