Stealth Bombers

Post by eRabbit »

Just an idea Miro and I had while chasing IAC around ZXIC earlier, how many members of 5punk can fly stealth bombers, and of that number how many either have one or are willing to get one. If you could just post here that would be marvelous, ta.

Might need your bigger ship soon to refuel the POS's. If ZXIC stays busy in the evenings and noone is around to refuel them during the quieter periods in the morning, we'll have to jump the fuel direct to the towers from W9 and GMLH.

You around tonight?

Looks like I'll have a work hiatus after today (possibly tomorrow) so am likely to be around in the mornings if refuelling is needed during these quieter times. If you want me to do it, can you please let me kave the neccessary hangar privileges (at least temporarily) so that I can do it.

Isn't there a trick with carriers or something, because when you undock you have 30 seconds invulnerability and after 15 seconds you can jump, you have 15 seconds of invulnerability with the ability to jump. I think I read that somewhere but can't remember where, I may be wrong though, in all likelyhood it's best to ignore me...

On the topic of stealth bombers, never mind that as well, I don't think the plan would work. It mainly revolved around going into f4, sitting cloaked and shooting anything we could kill, freaking IAC out in the process :P

sadly you can't shoot or target things while cloaked (unless they've changed that)... and if they have changed it, I iwill need to update my cloaking thread

Yea I know, you'd decloak, shoot and then cloak again, if enough people are there you'd pop certain things, only decloaking to shoot certain things. It freaks people out when they don't know if they're safe or not :P

No, but a gang of stealth bummers with a mix of sensor damps, tracking disruptors and sensor boosters in the mids can be a nasty surprise. You either engage from within 20km (fire and cloak) or from 100km (fire, cloak, uncloak just before missiles hit). The trick is to damp them, fire and recloak before they can lock you.

Always align to something, but then turn 90 degrees when cloaked so you pop up in a different location (and so the hostile interdictors mwd'ing to your last known location don't decloak you).

2 volleys of cruise will pop an inty, 3 will pop a cruiser. Mix the damage types up across the gang. And if it gets nasty simply cloak up and sit tight. Hunting stealth bummers is a royal pain in the arse. If anyone is brave enough they can try the tackle bomber fit as well.

nice :) I should complete jump drive 5 this evening and then only have the calibration, jump fuel, fighters, cap. ships, carriers, and cap kit to learn...

*sigh*

[edit] anyone know if you can fit Citadel launchers on a carrier? :P

I think in Fea's case he'll be wondering if you can fit his carrier on a citadel launcher
