What do you think my chances are of buying one that morning at woolies? My (soon to be ex) flatmate just put the 180 squid into my bank that he should have paid me last week for rent so I can maybe kinda (shouldn't really) buy one.

I reckon there's a chance, especially if they aren't doing a pre-order thing.

You never know with Woolies. Ever since the MegaDrive was around it's been a minefield of excellent bargains and terrible rip-offs.

Battlefield 2 and San Andreas will probably still be £40 in there, but because it's often overlooked by gamers there's a chance they'll have a shelf of Wiis at the RRP.

Argos is probably worth a look too, if there's one nearby - the interwebby wing say they're all out (although ran out far later than anywhere else) but they may have some earmarked for stores. Another place people might not think of would be PC World.

thinking of turning up there at half 8 just to get in for opening and tell the lab I got a cold, even though they'll blatently know I'm after a wii.

Hmmmn.
In the UK we hear that Woolies now has some Wii in stock. Expect your pre-order to turn up within a week.

Asda FTW!! I have picked up some crackin' bargains there in the past.. i.e. Quake 4 for a tenner, Dawn of War for a fiver. Never looked at consoles but I do regularly check the PC game section for bargains.
