First Ever ISS Compulsory Op

Post by friznit »

Details on ISS forum here. If the time wasn't quite so insanely late (0300) I might have stayed awake for this one, but frankly I'm not sure I have it in me. However, an afternoon snooze may sort that out.

Btw guys just to be clear - RL (i.e. sleep and bedtime) does come first. They're gunning for the US timezone players mainly on this one so don't feel obliged to stay up all night just for a frickin' computer game. However, for those who can go, please do try to (even if you just go in a frig). Having the [5punkorp] tag on vent is all it takes :P

I saw the post yesterday at about 2:40am and thought it was in 20 mins time, lol. Blame Algey and his ambiguous posts.

Anyway, if I am awake I will head down and fit sometheing closer to the POS we are defending. I will likely be an osprey shield repping as that will be the easiest setup to aquire down there I think.

I may also not go depending on if I can be bothered at 3am.

Hmmm....

Nope, I half thought about it - but then decided it was a bad idea.

Looks like another success-through-the-enemy-not-turning-up sort.

Pleased I didn't go as I would have at least wanted pew pew for my troubles.

reports are that it was the Triumvirate who had attacked the POS in the first place.

They did show, with a 30 man fleet (including dreads, rumor has it), but ISS (+ 2 neighbourhood alliances in support) fielded 150+ in local and they took the sensible option and didn't engage. According to one of the guys I talked to in Marge channel (pak... something, he was one of the co-ordinators or somesuch) it was almost exclusively US player turnout (predictably, given the timing)

Sounds like a round of applause all round, although I would slow clap a little for the original poster for use of phrases like "compulsory per ISS charter" ... a little high-handed for a video game. Theer was a very well penned follow up from I-can't-remember-who (perhaps James Lyrus) who explained the situation in much more motivational terms but, frankly, anyone talking to me like that in RL wouldn't get a friendly response ... /rant off

And they blew the top off the Vent server apparantly. :ahoy:
