Mhhhhhhhrrrrrr!

Post by Dog Pants »

Left4Dead - multiplayer online FPS zombie survivor action from Valve. Looks fucking brilliant - very co-op orientated, but extra randoms can take over the AI zombies for extra fun. 28 Days Later style fast zombies, licker-esque wall climbing zombies, big fat vomiting zombies. I'm so excited I think I just wet myself :excited:

Anyone else know about this? Can't find any info on the intercock, but it's on PCG p26 if anyone fancies a look. Quite a zombie-heavy issue actually. :brains:

im confused, did valve pick up 'no more room in hell' and rename it or is it in no way affiliated with valve part from they're distributing it?

either way it kicks arse, cs and gmod both have brilliant zombie conversions, i'll bet it uses ideas from both.

It's not that clear - it seems like it's something PCG found while touring the Valve offices (from what I gathered) and it uses Sauce, so I assume it's a bona-fide Valve release. There's weapon purchasing a-la CS and the game sounds rather like how AvP worked in multiplayer with the wall climbing and various special zombie attacks from different types. I rather like the sound of the Smoker (the licker-like one) - it can hang out of windows or (I think) cling onto walls and drag players up into the darkness with their tongues like a barnacle. They can then cover their escape with a smokescreen, hence the name. The way they were described in the article was of the group creeping along after an initial zombie attack, when one of them just disappeared upwards screaming. The group panick and fire wildly at the zombie that is glimpsed briefly before vanishing into the smoke, only succeeding at hitting and killing their team-mate. Sounds like tense stuff.

This :above:

I reckon I know where AvP 2 is, but AvP might take some finding. Much nicer engine in AvP though.

I have AvP on disc, but lost my copy of AvP2!

Now, if you were going to the ProfLAN, exchanging of datas could be arranged... :)

:excited: Wants to play! I own the original somewhere so I don't feel guilty about using floorware. IIRC you never needed the CD either, which was nice (and kept it on my hard drive for years).

I have the second installed, but I'll locate the first if that's the way the wind blows.
