Hmm, I'm guilty of that one than. Woke up drunk on my 18th (Late night drinking session of midnight to 4am), cycled to college drunk.

Also, sorry to hear about your Dad Deject, I wish him a speedy recovery.

Werd to your Dad deject, send him my best wishes.

My tuppence on this debate is that a 0 limit would be a brilliant idea. I've never had a drop before driving, and I intend to maintain that. There is no situation in which you *need* to drink, and regardless of the amount, it will always have some impact on your driving ability.

What about the night before driving? I do not condone drinking and driving in any way, but it's unlikely your system will be totally alcohol free after a moderate session the night before. With a zero limit you could be picked up for this.

Best wishes to your dad deject.

Thats a good point. I've been aware of this in the past, and haven't ever driven after a night on the pop either, but then I've not really had much more than a couple of pints down the local in one go for a long time!

Hope your Paps recovers well. :above:

As for the drinking argument, I will never drink a drop and get into a car. There is no point at all. And I will shop people (inc mates) that drive drunk if I ever see them - it's for their own good.

I have cycled back from the students union rather hammered which is wrong, I can't really excuse myself for that, wrong is wrong, however I am not propelling a 1 or 2 tonne lump of metal at 40+ mph so it doesn't seem to be as wrong. The route I took the only person I would have hurt would have been myself, and I was lit up like a Christmas tree.

I hate the morning after simply not knowing if or how much alcohol is in your system but if in doubt I would avoid driving. A test kit would be great here but never bought one.

Yeah. Thats why I say "I'm" willing to take the risk, because there is less risk to others on the road, than if I were to be driving a car drunk. I can't say there is none, but its small.. especially where I live. Its an event when you see a car, let alone at 12midnight..
