That ad's put me off one. Vacuous, fickle and skinny are three qualities I like least.

I'll wait until after Christmas. Not because I have to you understand, but becasue there's actually only one game I'm even a bit interested in, Zelda, and they usually piss me off before I get anywhere near completing them anyway.

Obviously, I was lying. I've preordered one from Argos, which seem to be the only place still guaranteeing systems on launch day. I think they take your cash up front, though. I heard Play had mailed a bunch of people saying they could no longer honour launch-day delivery, at least Amazon were up-front and shut up shop when they ran out.

 You are weak.

Possibly the best choice for a pc gaming nerd to have though, as most PS3/XBOX360 titles will appear on your pc, and given time (and upgrades) they will run better on your pc. The Wii on the other hand... That shit is whack!

Weak as piss. I'm just hoping it'll be more than a gimmick - while DS titles are fun, and one can't fault the company for attempted innovation, the games haven't always been there for them. DS games are fun for a bit, but don't have a lot of longevity unless that's all you're stuck with for a time, although conversely it's also hard to get into the more time-comsuming titles as it's kind of a pick-up-and-play sort of machine.

Still, Wii has a launch title that interests me, and the bundled release will undoubtedly entertain the family this yuletide (kind of the point for me) which beats the 360's debut titles (my Christmas Plan B) which even a year after release has only (charitably) five titles which would have interested, (uncharitably) three after having actually played four of them.

At least talk from developers seems excited about the possibilities with Wii, although the usual suspects who simultaneously release all-platform titles will probably see it as a pain in the arse to design for a graphically-inferior system with a bespoke control system.

Wii won't see the best console driving game ever, or the best implementation of the latest incarnation of a popular all-format series, but it might see some truly innovative sword/lightsaber-swinging, face-punching, best-controller-since-the-invention-of-the-mouse games whose franchise doesn't even exist yet. Tough for them to get these new games sold, but it's made a little bit easier by the behemoths failing to deliver their market-obliterating titles, where the fuck is Forza360, GTAIV or FFXIII in time to slip into Santa's sack?
