Counter-Strike is much slower paced. Running around with your gun blazing will get you a death so very fast. There is a lot of sneaking, camping (both good and bad camping), and bitching at sledra.
On the other hand, HL2DM is more like the single player game, sprinting to cover, unloading clips into everyone you see, and getting shot from all angles.
I kind of prefer the slower pace of CS. The only problem I have is that it can be too easily dominated by one side or even one player.

WOW
Graphics are unbelievably awesome, and the interactivity and AI within the game is fantastic.
It's one of the first games I've played single player that has totally immersed me.
I find CS:S a little bit over complicated, what with the really odd loadout and buying weapons bollocks, but other than that it looks and runs lovely.
Had fun throwing stuff at people in HL2 DM as well, allthough I have yet to "toilet" someone.
Well at the moment I prefer HL2 DM over CS:S, but that's only because of CS:S overly complicated weapons bollocks.
Give it time though, give it time

Yeah, they've just done up the buying system! Once you get used to playing you'll know what weapon combos you use the most, and can assign those to the save slots. I now find this saves me muchos time!Woo Elephant Yeah wrote: I find CS:S a little bit over complicated, what with the really odd loadout and buying weapons bollocks, but other than that it looks and runs lovely.

yeah, once you start playing the weapons thing is not that big of a deal.
I basically have the whole buy menu memorized...
you can also bind all the stuff you use to keys for easy purchasing, although berk will be more help with that. I only have the autobuy and 1 other bind for weapons because my laptop has limited keyboard space.
