i got part of the pic but it wouldn't take the other half of the pic. supposedly to many pixels. at first it was the file size was to large, then it was pixels. so maybe this is the best i can get it

I'm sure if you poked the right person in the right place they'll let you have a pic that's a bit bigger than is allowed. Seems to be quite a few people with big(ish) avatars, unless it's some kind of trickery and hax.

it's just the upload size that's limited, can have bigger if you host yourself (or elsewhere)

You can upload it to www.5punk.co.uk/uploads and then link to it that way if you like.

Avatars should be no bigger than 80 x 80 (in theory) but a number of members have bigger avatars, and doesn't matter that much to be honest.

The height is more the issue, as any higher than 80 pixels, makes the posts/page longer, whereas there is plenty of room widthwise.

Don't tell anyone but I sneaked in an extra 13 pixels on the height of my avatar, it doesn't look as good if I shrink it further.

Hmm, I might be able to crop it a bit.

Don't worry about it, I'd rather it was slightly too high, than having to make it look shit.

The rules are really there as a guideline to stop this place being like 99% of other forums, which have ridiculous oversized avatars and signatures.

Thinking about it now, I am so glad I got rid of signatures, it makes this forum a lot easier on the eyes than other forums I sometimes browse.

We're allowed to view other forums? Wait, why would we even want to do that? :)

edit:

and while carebearisum isn't a word, carebearism is more likely the correct spelling for such a non-word. :)

As it's being used as a name I think he has the right to spell it however he wants. I say this because I recently found that I've been spelling my name wrong for a few years, as far as it's origin is concerned. :)

if it's a name, that's different, but as the practice of avoiding PvP, it's Carebearism.
