I don't consider myself sick but I have and will watch nasty things just out of curiosity. Although I wished I hadn't watched a video of a hostage having his head cut off, that was harrowing. :(

We don't know whether this is actually going to happen yet anyway.

Want to talk about us interfering in their affairs? In the trial, Saddam was officially barred from talking about his relationship with Donald Rumsfeld. These pictures mean anything to anyone?

Also - note that the crime he is being hung for is the killing of about 150 villagers, not the mass-murder of 10,000 Kurds. Want to know why? The gas he killed them with was bought from the US and UK. Hurrah! Go us! Its almost as good as the time the CIA trained, funded and installed the Taliban in Afghanistan to fight off the pesky commie ruskies only to then have to go to war on them a number of years later. See also: countless similar events in South and Central America. Install US-friendly Dictator/Regime in some foreign country, claim victory for democracy, soak for 10 years, invade same country unilaterally, leave in ruins and poverty, claim victory for democracy, rinse and repeat. Ho-fucking-rah.

I'm too tired to get properly annoyed about it now, but I did at lunch-time. Read almost anything political* by Noam Chomsky for some brilliant analysis and insight.

Totally agree with Lateralus. It seems that any country that is against a fellow enemy of America is supported and funded, but when that country/regime gets a bit too powerful for their own good, the American government gets jumpy and invades the crap out of them. Iraq was never really invaded because of its terrorist links, but because Bush Jnr wanted to settle a score his dear ole papa never quite achieved. The oil fields were an added bonus. Also there was a lot of talk of the trial being totally corrupted against Hussein- a judge resigned from the case due to government interference and 3 defence lawyers 'mysteriously' got killed. To be honest, the whole Middle East Vs America thing has always stuck me as being like a childish Playground fight (You're my bestest friend- oh no, now I hate you *chucks rocks at each other*)

Having spraffed all that gash, Saddamn was a bastard and I'm not sorry to see him get killed in the slightest. Now, to take bets on which country America wades into next. I put £150 on Iran :)

Did you honestly believe it was more sophisticated than that? The Bush-Blair open mic gaffe clearly demonstrates that polticians, like most of us, actually speak very plainly behind the scenes and petty squabbles and name calling are run of the mill. Sadly it's rarely the politicians who suffer the consequences of their actions, Hussein being a clear exception.

In terms of world domination, USA is more powerful now than any single entity has been since the height of the British Empire and who said Imperialism was dead? But power corrupts...and history is written by the winners.
