5PUNKYBEEF maplist

Post by deject »

I propose we change the maplist on the BF2 server to play different maps than the current Karkand --> Mashtuur --> Jalalalalalabad. I'd like to see more maps with the Chinese alternated with MEC maps earlier on in the map rotation.

I propose:

Sharqi Peninsula
Dragon Valley
Road to Jalalalalalallalalalalalalalalalbad
Fushe Pass
Strike at Karkand
Dalian Plant
Gulf of Oman
Daqing Oilfields
Mashtuur City
Kubra Dam
Wake Island 2007

I feel like the MEC gets played way too much at the expense of the PLA, especially considering how good a lot of the PLA maps are.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

I agree, I like the PLA maps (especially Daqing Oilfields). The reason we have Karkand as the first map is because it's small and so ideal for when we only have 6 people. It also helps attract randoms.

I am bloody sick of Karkand though.

Yeah, Sharqi seems a good alternative, although it's fairly big it is at least popular to bring in the crowd.

Yep, probably time for a change, I've found that 5punkers have a very limited attention span*, and lose interest in anything if it isn't updated at least once a month.

*This statement includes myself by the way

Well it really isn't much bigger than Karkand. Once the MEC have captured a flag, the combat gets much more intense and close in, especially if it's the Alleyway or Surveillance Post.

Well, it's not that I have a limited attention span, I'm just fucking tired of always loading Karkand every time we play and I want to play more Chinese maps.

But also this. Hard. With Bells on.

PLA maps suit me fine, and since we regularly get enough 5punkers together to start the server now anyway, randoms quickly join after that.
