PS2 Live?

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

Anybody ever dabbled in PS2 online gaming?

I've heard it's a bit shit, which is a shame, as I quite like the PS2 as a gaming console.
Why does everyone say it's so bad then?

Back when I had my PS2 (I've since traded it in and got a gamecube), I took it online and I found that the games I played (Midnight Club and some American football game) had terrible methods of game setup, and unfair balance. For example, in midnight club, most races would be mostly straight away courses and would be run by people who had completed the game and had all of the cars unlocked, as well as unlocking "advanced driving techniques." It was a bit stupid if you as me to sit there with one car better from the starter while the other guy is basically racing the car best suited for the level.

And don't get me started on people leaving games before they're through. Oye.
