5punk Xfire group
For some reason it seems that all the Xfire clans & groups were killed off. I have rectified this issue. Please re-join the group.

Because I'm a fussy bastard with slight OCD on certain things which all have to match and be the same as others.deject wrote:Why did you kill my rank?
Bit of a tidy freak narf
Nothing personal, I do this sort of thing all the time, I'm a nightmare at work because people do things in different ways, so I go ahead and change them afterwards so everything matches.
I think it makes sense to just have 5punker and 5punk Admin, that way it makes it obvious to people who is who.

Probably right, but that's just how I do things, and believe me that will never change.deject wrote:To be quite honest, that's a bit of a shit reason. We're here to have fun, and silly titles are fun.
How many times have you logged onto the forum to suddenly see I've changed things and archived forums and so on, a bit on a whim, as I either go full on at changing stuff, or not at all.
Currently I am in full 5punk mode again, so everyone can expect some changes to the forums/site very soon, but once I have less spare time at work, and less enthusiasm, general anarchy will soon return and everything will become a bit messy again.
For example, I know that the post icons aren't really that important when in a specific forum, but every time I log on, I still end up editing peoples posts in say the Cod forum, to a cod icon. This is pretty pointless, but it's just how I work, and I like everything to be in a ridiculously tidy state.
It's either that, or a free for all, which in my experience running forums, leads to the forum becoming shit, stagnant, and unattractive to new members.
The main purpose on the Xfire name changes is for new people to simply glance at the listings and see who is who, and who they need to contact if they want to join etc...
As we all know, anyone can join 5punk, but if people somehow come across the clan listing on Xfire, this way it makes things simpler.
Sorry for the rambling but if you don't agree with what I do that's fine, I just thought I'd explain why.
Oh yeah, and did I mention I'm a fussy bastard already
To be fair, I do the exact same thing to the eve forum. It just gets on my nerves when there's no eve picture somehow.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:For example, I know that the post icons aren't really that important when in a specific forum, but every time I log on, I still end up editing peoples posts in say the Cod forum, to a cod icon. That's precisely why I thought the 5punk Mod ranks were a good idea - so people could quickly see who was online if they needed a help with Bukakke, the BeeF server or the moderated sections of the board.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:or new people to simply glance at the listings and see who is who, and who they need to contact if they want to join etc...
While it didn't specify which people were mods of what, it's a good starting point as those people likely know who to contact about what.
Of course there are a number of 5punkers who have been around for a while, and have a good idea about how things work, but who aren't mods of anything, perhaps they should be identified too?
It's still an imperfect list, as there's not really enough info there - perhaps something to consider for the "who has what games" lists is having some way to identify who had admin rights to our games servers.
like: 'Cashy- i dont do anything constructive, but im still better than you' ? probably a good idea thoughFatherJack wrote: Of course there are a number of 5punkers who have been around for a while, and have a good idea about how things work, but who aren't mods of anything, perhaps they should be identified too?
