Horror Games

Post by mrbobbins »

<rant>

I just got some spam telling me to check out the revolutionary new horror game Cold Fear, "You think you don't scare easily?, think again!" some crap like that, breaks boundries in survival horror, all that rubbish, well I was intrigued...

Oooh some lightning, creaky noises, a man with a gun, oh no an inhuman 4 legged thing crawls into the mouth of a dead body, Ooh a mad scientist with an eastern european accent, blood smeared on tiled walls, stamping on monsters heads to kill them, tagline "This spring hell freezes over"..

Original?, your having a laugh!, scary?, not in the slightest.

When will someone produce a decent horror game that is actually original and scary?, are there any new horror games out there that i've missed that are actually any good?. I think the last time I played a decent horror game was either Resident Evil or Silent Hill on the playstation, but why do they have to churn out cloned replicas? (I think that's a different issue though..)

So I think what i'm trying to say is: Please give me a scary, original horror game, not the same tired old game i played 10 years ago with snazzed up graphics.

reading that has angered me. Im not angry with you, im angry at my shit memory.

I played a game, about 4 months ago. I distinctly remember telling my miss's that it was causing me problems sleeping. I cant for the life of me remember what it was.

Damn my puny memory! Damn it to hell!

I shall ask her if she remembers, and get back to you :(

Teh Resi Evil series are the best survival horror game(s) ever.
