hit piss! How did I forget my 2nd favourite film from my favorite director? (ok, so technically, some other guy directed it. But its clearly Burtons baby). This *hard*.

on a slight side note, anyone else find Sally the sewn up girl strangely alluring?

Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence - Ryuichi Sakamoto

The Mission - Ennio Morricone

Bladerunner - Vangelis

2001 - Not original, yet still superbly scored

American Beauty - Thomas Newman

Dirty Harry - Lalo Schifrin

Gladiator - (most of it)

The Pink Panther - Henry Mancini

The Day the Earth Stood Still - Bernard Herrmann (gotta love the theramin)

Most of the 60's era Bond films

Plus, loads of other Vietnam era stuff, Platoon, Purple Haze Good Morning Vietnam etc.

Also John Hughes films have fantastic 80's soundtracks, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller etc

Yarr. I am a fan of most of his stuff. I cocking love the 'pocket watch chime theme' thingy in TGtBatU, but The Mission was just fucking beautiful stuff.

i like a lot of film music, but if there's one that really stays in my head, it must be the music that ennio morricone made for sergio leone's westerns.
once upon a time in the west is the only film ever that brought a tear to my eyes*.

(since my childhood that is, the ending of terminator 2 made me cry alot when i was a toddler)

Ooh, that reminds me - I made some of those excel quizzes that seem to circulate around work. One of them's massive, and most are movie related. I could upload them if anyone's interested.

It's Danny Elfman music from a Pee Wee Herman film, but I don't have an explanation for why I called the link I love horses. Maybe it's because I posted it at 8:21 and that's too early for sensible thoughts.

The man is certainly a musical genius. Also, I forgot the soundtrack to the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - that was outstanding, especially the Mike Teevee bit with the Oompah Loompahs looking like The Darkness.
