Well in HL2, you only faced 2 striders in the whole game, and both times you had a rocket launcher the whole time. In Episode 1, on don't get a rocket launcher until the very end, and so you have to run and hide while avoiding all the overwatch bastards.mrbobbins wrote:
But you took down striders in the first game, and (if my memory serves) during Ep1, it was just another strider, I didn't think 'My what a big baddy, this must be the end of the game'
Anyone Else Dissapointed with HL ep1?

Hmm, well it must be that I'm super hard and completely without fear that this situation failed to have a large impact upon me.deject wrote:

tis, but given we've not seen another and the weapon strippers are untested with it, I suspect it's a one-off.Stoat wrote:It's a good point though. The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device has a gravity gun in it, and that's set twenty years before HL2, in theory. Or at least, that's what the website suggests.
either that, or like all things, a previously used thing that went very wrong. as such one was saved and fixed.

Good point. Which leads us to wonder who Aperture Science is. Again. Damn you Valve.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:tis, but given we've not seen another and the weapon strippers are untested with it, I suspect it's a one-off.
