Just Cause

Post by spoodie »

It's another one of those expansive, free-roaming type games with lots of guns, vehicles, etc. and there is a demo available for download from Xfire. Which is a pain in the arse but I'm downloading it at work so yay for me!

It sounded good from the Edge article I read about 6 months ago but I will try it and let you know, or try it yourself and let me know.

While it has looks quite nice and is a bit fun it seems like another one of those over ambitious projects. I can't really recommend the demo from the 20 mins I played, even the very start is a bit tricky. :(

Didn't like the demo from what I played.
It's a non-linear game making you fulfil linear objectives unfortunately :(.. Which seems to be the downfall of many a console conversion recently.

Strange, worked fine for me. You're not missing much other than some not-quite-as-good-but-nice Far Cryesque scenery and some very floaty vehicles. :?

Got to agree with pretty much everything said here so far:

Its like GTA, but less good.

It makes out like its non-linear, but isnt.

The "stunt position" thing is quite cool, but thats about it.

Its quite pretty, but nothing spectacular.

Considering how average it looks, it really made my machine grumble and moan.

It has a stupid save system that, at one point, autosaved milliseconds before I plunged my helicopter into a cliff, meaning I had to start the whole demo again from the beginning.

Altogether, not so great.

I keep misreading this game as an abreviation of Because.

"Why do you want to play that console conversion?"
"Just 'cause. Okay?"
