How to join/spectate?

On CS:S how do you switch from player to spectator and vica-versa, assuming it's possible? A console command...

if you mean to switch from playing to spectating, press "M", then chooce spectate.

the above can be done only once you're dead (on most servers)... if you're not dead, typing
