O2 bashing

Post by Lateralus »

Today, I have mostly been bashing O2.

I called them last night to try and blag a new phone and better contract from them, but ended up being put on hold 15 mins before their office closed, and not being told, therefore ending up on hold for 45 mins before getting too pissed off.

So this morning, I phoned them back for another rant, then set about seing what I could get.

My current deal is £25 a month for 500 any network, off-peak mins, and 500 texts. By threatening to leave and claiming to have seen the following deal elsewhere, they are now giving my 500 any time any network mins, and 500 texts for £20 a month, as well as a new SonyEricsson W300i for free. I wanted the w810i, but since its an old phone, and they're trying to promote the new ones, I'd have had to pay for it so I went for the free option. I was going to go for the k610i which was also free, but it had a quarter of the memory included.

Anyway, does anyone else have the w300i, and if so is it good or should I get a different one?

Also, threaten to leave your mobile company when your contract is up for renewal and quote someone else's great deal at them, and chances are they'll match it. Even when it doesn't exist :)

Vodafone Pay As You Talk FTW!

Easily save myself £20 a month now I've switched back to PAYT.
I hate texting people, much rather speak on the phone, so I don't really spend that much.

Put £40 credit on my phone in March, and I still have £30 left

I though you meant O2, as in oxygen, and wondered how it was possible to bash it.

A friend got a 360 as part of some phone contract deal not that that would appeal.

You can do the same thing with Internet Service Providers sometimes, which reminds me, I really need to poke mine a bit for a better deal.

If you froze it first, then it could be bashed (or bonked) in the usual way.

I was fed up with O2 being shit, even after telling them I was leaving due to their rubbish upgrade offer they couldn't be bothered to try and keep my business with a counter offer, so I bummed them hard, went to Dial a phone and got a free PSP with my cheaper better phone deal with T mobile, FREE PSP FTW :w00t:
