BF2142 E3 Trailer

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

This is the first time I've seen it, and I must say it does look pretty awesome.

I wonder what the minimum specs for the game will be?

probably not *that* much higher than BEEF, given 2142 uses the same engine shinied up a little.

I'd assume anyone who can play BEEF will be able to play 2142, if not at such high quality.

After watching that video, I can imagine that certain maps may become even more of a "MUST WHORE VEHICLES" thing than current beef. Given the vast superiority those vehicles would have over infantry. I know the last bit of the video had some good old infantry on infantry which is what I like to see a bit more of.

I think this could have so much more done with it, and using the current beef engine is a bit of a disappointment, but not surprising considering it's EA. I'll probably end up getting the game but won't be looking forward to it as much as Supreme Commander.. mmm Supreme Commander...

However I did like the look of those Assault Pods being launched to attack that mothership type thing.

If the flow of the game actually played like that, it's almost as if in the first part everyone has vehicles, and the second the battle moves into an indoors place where it's all on foot. Kind of like the UT conquest/assault maps where you do some bits on foot, others in tanks - there's plenty of vehicles to go around, but some areas are only capturable by infantry. BF2 could have done with some areas like that, that can't be reached by tanks or cars, and aren't cappable by heli-hovering.

:above: All of this. They maps will decide wether this game is truely good. It will be enjoyable enough with the crazy vehicles and stuff they're giving us, and like the active camo and all that.. But to create a truly good game the maps need to be made to do all that FJ says.

2142 looks like so much fun, but no doubt it'll give us all the rage just as much as BF2
