How do I access my unlocks?
The first time I had an unlock, I chose the weapon I wanted after exiting a server straight away.
This time I chose "choose later", but I can't see how to unlock any weapons in the BFHQ.
I definitely have a spare unlock, so if someone could write an idiots guide to unlocking a wepon (in particular the Medic's gun) that would be great so I can tell if Beef is spazzing, or WEY is spazzing.

Slightly different I think, what Berk did was log-in to my account and play on a SF server for a bit (Getting me a couple of SF badges aswell, thanks Berk!Gunslinger42 wrote:
Some kind fellow with SF logs onto it with your account and unlocks a SF weapon. Next time you run normal beef you have a shiney special horses gun.
Not sure how it works if you have already used unlocks though

Ah, that could be it. I've had two unlocks available with each rank since I can remember, but I've also had Special horses for a long time.mrbobbins wrote:Slightly different I think, what Berk did was log-in to my account and play on a SF server for a bit (Getting me a couple of SF badges aswell, thanks Berk!) This made the SF weapons available, when I got to my first unlock I was aloud 2 guns, but didn't have to choose a SF one.

To unlock the second tier of unlocks, i.e.: SF unlocks, you first need to have the first unlock for that class. For example, to get the shiny F2000, you need to first unlock the also shiny G3. Likewise, to get the G36E you first need to unlock the L85A1. Also, with Special horses, you get 2 unlocks per rank instead of just one. This is retroactive. So if you're now a Sergeant, and you get someone to do the SF bypass for you, you would instantly get 3 unlocks to match the 3 you have. Also from then on you get 2 unlocks per rank.
To answer WEY's question, the box that lets you choose your unlocks should show up every thime you log in if one is available.

I think it's time I fired up some Special horses
Maybe not tonight because it's BEEF night, but perhaps later on in the week.
Also, seeing as we are on the subject, and I knwo it's been covered elsewhere, but is the Special horses weapons unlock in standard BEEF worth getting?
I have only had one unlock so far that I've used, and I chose the Sniper Rifle, but then found that it's actually worse than the stock one.
The medic's gun seems to be awful, but I want to play medic more, so would it make sense to get it?
Also been playing as an engineer a lot, but is it really worth getting the shottie upgrade?

The medic gun is VERY useful if you're on the more wide open and larger maps, w here you're more likely to encounter enemies at >75m. The scope gives you a huge help in these situations in finding and hitting enemies. It really shines in single-fire mode, and can be a sniper's worst enemy at range. Also, it's hand if you're USMC and want a full auto gun. However a lot of the time the lower recoil and greater damage of the AK-101 and AK-47 make them better choices, especially on maps like Karkand.
As for the Jackhammer, it is very useful if , like me, you aim can be 100% shit at times. While the pump-actions are fucking deadly, you have to make your shots count because the next shot is almost a full second later. (complete bullshit if you ask me, I can rack a new shot much faster than the game) Therefore, being able to get that second, third, or fourth shot off quick can save your ass. Whatever you do, NEVER use it full-auto. You will not hit anything with it. The recoil in full auto is batshit insane. I recommend using it like the DAO-12 and S12K semi-auto shotguns, one click per shot. This will reduce recoil and eliminate waste. You only get 42 shells total with the Jackhammer, and you can run out very fast.
The sniper unlock is a weird beast. It has the accuracy of the SVD, the damage of the M24, the loudest bang of all the guns, and it cacn penetrate glass. Really though, I only use it in Special horses, where you can't use the L96A1. I'll take the accuracy of fthe M24 and L96A1 over the others any day. In normal BF2 the M95 is really only useful if you plan on somehow sneaking to the enemy airfield and stealing their jets by sniping out anyone who gets in. Still, you need to unlock it because you need it to get the L96A1.

Do you mean for the Spec Ops class in vanilla beef? If so, yes. The G36 in all its guises in the game is excellent. The G36C (Spec Ops) is very accurate at range (despite only having iron sights). On single shot mode you can snipe away happily from medium range.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote: Also, seeing as we are on the subject, and I knwo it's been covered elsewhere, but is the Special horses weapons unlock in standard BEEF worth getting?

The G36C is very ace. I has supurb accuracy and very very little recoil, perhaps the lowest recoil in the game.Sheriff Fatman wrote:
