just thought, how about a profile section where you can add the games you have, so if you want someone top play a game with, you can look to see who else has it?

I "ain't mad" at this idea, as the kids would say, which I beleive is a statement of support.

Well, truth be told, all you need to do is look at someone's Xfire profile and then you'll have all you really need to know.

I think the idea is so that you dont have to go through everyone individually to see who has what. You could just go "Who else has X? ah, him, him and him."

This :above:

Suppose it all comes down to how much work it is for WEY or Stoat vs how useful it'll be.

Yeth, I suggested something similar in a thread about how to improve 5punk, though instead of having to go to each person's profile, I thought having a central database-driven page where you could 'add yourself' to a game to say that you had it, ala the 5chedualer would be more efficient.

Yep, it's on the "list of things to do", but Stoat is busy working on updating the 5cheduler and Discussion Board at the moment.

I would do it, but it involves code monkey skills which I don't have (plus I'm still working on the new look 5punk website thingamy off and on)

I think this is a really good idea, because this way you could have a page for searching who else has certain games. Like a search/query page to find the games.
Of course then the only way of doing it is to have dropdown menus to choose games, and you get to a point of saying "What games go on the drop down menu?" but we'll sort that out sometime, somehow.
Like WEY has said, we just need to wait on Stoat.

I know we've mentioned it a few times, and had *lots* of ideas about how it could be used. That may be one of the reasons why it remains on the to-do list as it looks like an overwhelming undertaking.

Maybe start out with a very simple list and build from there rather than trying to incorporate everyone's ideas at once.

How about for now somebody creating a page on the 5punk Wiki (still haven't got my head round how it works) with a list of every game we can think of that's relevant, and people adding their name to each one.

The games would have to be in name order, and if a game isn't there that you have, you can add it.

Might tide us over until we can sort something better out.

I'll have a fiddle, and make a category called games, in which we can put games as a subcategory, a little description about each one, possible 5punk traditions carried out in this game (/me bums for eve, falling pianos for cod, killing bunnies for rag, etc).

Sound good?

Ta da! I have begun to make the catergory, and will start filling bits of it up as soon as I can. Please try and keep the pages tidy if you edit them, I'll also try and make a template so that each page will have some structure to it. http://www.5punk.co.uk/wiki/index.php?t ... gory:Games

Dont go making pages at the moment, not till I've got my head around things!

Dear WEY or Stoat!
Please allow me to piss around with the 5punk wiki and make it lots better, as all the links appear to be everywhere. Unless an article has somewhere linking to it then it will be useless, that is what categories are for. Grimmie know wiki-speak to a degree!

I will transplant bits from one place to another if allowed.
Could you also please, please, please allow image uploads so that I may include thumbnails for each game? Thanks!

A Wiki icon in the toolbar? A black bold TNR 'W' would do as the logo, unless anyone has a better idea.

FAQ icon has changed to Wiki, and now links to 5punk.co.uk/wiki.
The phpbb FAQ never got used anyway, so it was a bit pointless.
