Yeah, bf2s.com has a column on the left somewhere for your best rounds as each army, look in there for the highest number. I didn't know about this column for far too long.
And 5punk does seem to crash more than other servers, but that might just be trickery. All servers might crash this much, but because we're not on them as often as we're on ours, we never notice.

Ah yes, ta. Best score is 101, which I got that last time we had a really good game on the 5punk server, which didn't crash.Gunslinger42 wrote:Yeah, bf2s.com has a column on the left somewhere for your best rounds as each army, look in there for the highest number. Yeah, you could be right. I'm not entirely convinced but there's not much we can do about it.Gunslinger42 wrote:And 5punk does seem to crash more than other servers, but that might just be trickery. This is possible, i suspect it's mostly just a 1.3 issue coupled with the fact we'll often spend a lot longer on our server than we do on others - so see more crashes, and notice them because it's our problem.spoodie wrote: Yeah, you could be right. Our server is exactly the same.
We can barely get an hour out of it - complete waste of money really as it takes ages to get going and then dies.
I believe the servers that are sitting on a Windows OS don't crash anywhere near as much - but I only know of MultiPlay that uses Windows. (well they did anyway). 1.4 is supposed to fix all this
, but if it is anything like their previous patches I wouldn't expect all that much. Still at least they are testing this one!
Also, I *think* if the server crashes before the end of the round your score is not sent to EA's ranked computer thingy.
Which sucks narf.

Yeah, i think it's possibly a linux/bf2cc thing to a level - though mostly still a 1.3 thingI believe the servers that are sitting on a Windows OS don't crash anywhere near as much - but I only know of MultiPlay that uses Windows. that - it'd make sense to fire the scores off every 90 seconds, but EA are twats, so it won't happenAlso, I *think* if the server crashes before the end of the round your score is not sent to EA's ranked computer thingy.Which sucks narf.

We use a company named "DustWorld" - wouldn't recommend them really - but they are cheap.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:4u by any chance or?
BF2CC (AKA the worst example of .Net coding on the planet) certainly plays its part - I sometimes wonder if the game server even crashes at all - and it isn't just BF2CC 'detecting' the crash and killing the server process and starting a new one. If you look in the logs for BF2CC it says something like "BF2CC lost connection with RCON - Crash detected".Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Yeah, i think it's possibly a linux/bf2cc thing to a level - though mostly still a 1.3 thing
Amen.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:that - it'd make sense to fire the scores off every 90 seconds, but EA are twats, so it won't happen
Edit: I just worked out the entire night I have spent playing BF2 tonight - not one round actually finished!!!!

still sucks royally to lose 100+ points
Yeah same hereDr. kitteny berk wrote:yup, unfortunately it's all we've got really![]()
We are thinking of spending the extra £15ish a month and moving to Multiplay. Their web-based admin removes the need for BF2CC entirely. We never had any problems with them, we only moved away for the cost saving. Guess you really do get what you pay for.

Karkand and Sharqi? Could just be that because they're the most played maps they're the ones it usually crashes on by the laws of averages. Same as why the 5punk server seems to crash more often.Woo Elephant Yeah wrote:Hopw about not playing the same 2 fucking maps that used to always crash on lanarchy?
9 out of 10 times when the server crashes it's on those 2 maps, or perhaps it's because 9 out of 10 times we only ever play those 2 maps![]()
Also *waves hello to Fear after stabbing him in the neck with a knife*
However, I do agree about not keep playing the same maps. There's sound logic in starting off with Karkand and Sharqi because it'll draw people in, but I have to admit I'm getting bored of Karkand. I was actually quite enjoying Wake Island last night (which is odd 'cos I used to hate it).
