well, seeing as at least 3 or 4 of us appear to mountain bikers, i figured. phototiemgo!

100 5perm to anyone who can ID the frame before 4pm.

Well not sure on the frame, but I don't have any pics of my beast. Its a 5 year old Dawes Watoga, cost £370 new at the time. I used to be into trail riding and a little trial riding, with the rare bit of downhill thrown in too. Its got some OKish RST forks and a decent cable front disk.

Somewhat lost touch with the 'scene' now though, and have no places or people to off-road with now. I'd love to get back into it a bit.

the older dawses were pretty nice, istr the frames were sturdy as hell

i'm well out of touch too, really need to get back into it and get fit again.

that and some new knees, mine are mush

Yeah, its a decent alloy frame, and not managed to knock the wheels out either which is good. I've banananananananaed a few in the past...

I thought you wanted full specs! Its a Planet X aluminium frame then, 7005 grade I'd guess.

i do, but if you're gonna shout metal, i'd expect something to back that up.

the square ones are nice proper easton rad too, non of that cheap crap

Its the only grade of alloy I can remember cos I have a stiker on my seat tube saying it.

Well mine's one of these and it does me just fine, anything more expensive is guaranteed to get nicked in London

Not done any offroad for a couple of years sice I was hospitalised with concussion by a particuarly fun bit of the Lake District

It's been about 10 years since I was any kind of mountain biker, but I've still got my Kona Cinder Cone back at my parents'. Every year or so I think "Ooh, I'll bring my bike up and start using it again. Same with my mountain board.

A couple of my friends own bike shops so it has been years since I last had to buy a bike, we just blagged the companies for 'demo' versions.

Like Dog Pants I've hardly ridden in the last few years, most of my old biker buddies have moved on to triathlons these days.

My fave bike bike was always the Pace, a great Yorkshire product, much like myself

I used to be a mechanic on the only fully sponsored, non-factory Pace team. They are an ace bunch of guys, the amount of free gear they gave us was awesome, generous on a night on the piss as well
