What radio station do you listen to?
I have to say that when I'm at home or I'm in the car, I listen to Planet Rock alot. At work (for the sake of those around me) I have Heart 106.2 on the computer speakers.
There are bloody well millions of songs out there - variety is enormous - and although I understand there are alot of 'genres' of music - even with those choices, why is it that when you listen to one radio station every day - they seems to play the same old songs every day? Even if they have a no repeat policy from 9-5 (which is a good idea), after hearing the same old songs day in, day out - I've yet to find a station that I love to listen to that I wouldn't get bored of!
So what do you listen to?

Generally i just listen to my own music collection, it's plenty big enough (that's what she said) to last days (26 or so) without a repeat.
not to mention, it's mostly stuff i like, unlike most recent stuff, which is shit.

Don't really listen to the radio. Started listening to Xfm when it first arrived up here, but it soon became identical to all the other radio stations.
They all seem to suffer "CD left out on the table syndrome". You'll hear a song that you've not heard for ages, and think "wow, it was great to hear that again". Unfortunately the DJ must then leave that CD out on the table because you hear the same damn 5 times a day 7 days a week.
I'm very disappointed with Xfm in Manchester actually. I had hoped they be playing a good selection of tracks from local bands (The Fall, Joy Division etc), but they don't seem to dare playing anything other than Oasis and 'This Charming Man' (I like the song, but they do have plenty others that are better).
Now I just listen to my walkman whilst driving and get shouted out by my friend who says it's illegal.

I'm afraid to say I listen to Radio 1 generally (although I don't listen to the radio much). I don't particularly like the music, and it's repetitive, but it doesn't have all those bloody adverts that really grip my shit. I also like Radio 2, but nobody else I work with does and whenever I tune in I never seem to get enough music. Also, without Radio 1 I'd never hear any new music.
Oh, but at home I'll listen to 5punk radio or occasionally FTLFM if I remember.

I mostly agree with this, although IMO there is a lot of awesome new music, it's just not played on the radio.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Generally i just listen to my own music collection, it's plenty big enough (that's what she said) to last days (26 or so) without a repeat.
