agreed. Totaly useless at long range and i aint wasting my rocks on infantry.
If you're an engineer head... i recommend the MP7, it's a lot more powerful than it looks (with its high rate of fire). And it sounds a bit like the Aliens assault rifle.
But the G36C is FTW IMO
Whilst this is true, as an engineer (my most played kit) I usually find myself lurking, in very close proximity, to things that people want to blow up. Should one stumble across the feelthy Spec-Ops doing the afore mentioned blowing-up, the DAO is great for a 'one-button-auto-kill'.
/edit I should add that I mean any auto shotguns when I say DAO

I fucking swear by the DAO-12. Nothing is better when going toe-to-toe. Yeah yeah yeah it has no range big deal. If you're decent with your pistol you'll be fine, especially considering the pistol does more damage than the SMGs and you can get just as many hits if you spend 3 minutes using it. The DAO-12 will destroy anyone you come across. I haven't tried the P90 yet, I'll let you know in about 20,000 points.
Also, the G3 is actually pretty inaccurate. The AK-47 is more accurate by a good margin. Also, the G3 gets the smallest benefit from going prone. But for short or medium ranges the G3 is a monster.

This
But that's because I'm an anti-tank whore. Also at long range I use rockets against infantry because it works/annoys people/I am a n00b.

All of this, very hard.
Just get your pistol on a fast swap button and the DAO is class. End ex.

People get annoyed at rocket sniping? I love doing that! Sounds like the idiots in CS:S who get all arsey if you spray rooms with automatic fire and kill them.

Yes, yes they do. But that's probably because they can't do it themselves. It's not like it's hard to get out of the way of the rockets most of the time, unless they sneak up on you. Last night I killed 2 people within a matter of seconds with my rockets, they just stood there and took it instead of sidestepping slightly to avoid them.
I try to avoud using my rockets on infantry because the only reason I'm playing Anti-Tank is to kill tanks and with only 6 rockets you run out fast. You're better of using ninja skills to get up next to the guy and popping him than wasting your rocket on one guy.

It's very rare I survive long enough to use all 6 rockets. If I can take some bastard out with one (especially a sniper whore) I do.

fortunately, by the time you get to master/first sergeant, you've already specialized to a point where the last 2 unlocks would be nice, but not essential for your playing style
