Consolevania

Post by spoodie »

Consolevania 2.7 is available for download now and everyone should watch it. This one is all about independent games and features The Ship as one review, it's useful to see it in action and know what it's all about, I'm tempted to get it now.

I watched a few of these after you pimped them on the board (at least, I think it was you), jolly funny. A little console biased, but this was not entirely unexpected, given the name :)

More of this sort of thing.

It looked a bit jerky when they were playing it.

I was pimping episode 2.6 on the discussion board a while back. So far I've seen all of season 2 and a few of season one (the episodes were about an hour long in the first season). I do genuinely appreciate their reviews. They seem to have some issues with Edge magazine which I'm a subscriber of but I like the seperate approaches they both take to their games (both CV & Edge). Consolevania did a series of one of specials a while back, I highly recommend the Retro one, it was corking.

CV is a really refreshing change though, compare it to the show that Dominic Diamond was doing last year on sky. All it was was sycophantic footballer/page three model worship and no substance. Bullshit.

DD thought it was funny but it wasn't, it was shite, even worse than Gamesville which I did enjoy a bit. At least the presenters weren't up their own arses and you could laugh at how bad they were. Also the games guru was almost as good as Patrick Moore.

The next episode of CV is all about the Dreamcast and will be the last one until next year.

We sent in to Gamesville a question about how hard we were finding Harvest Moon. It was most entertaining watching the guru trying not to laugh.
