Portal

Post by deject »

Portal will be shipped with HL2: Episode 2, so everyone must get it. Basically take the portal idea from Prey, add in a "portal gun" and introduce bizarre puzzles. There's a trailer up on Gamespot, but I'm downloading the HD version and I'll have it uploaded by this evening.

Looks very interesting and I like the visual style, might make my brain explode though.

oooh, this is how prey should've been, not that prey was bad but this would've made it better.

I think that was precisely the makers' intention.

It makes the gravity gun look like a year 7 science project.

I like the way objects seem to keep their momentum when exiting a portal, but immediately become subject to the (new) gravity. I look forward to accelerating objects to high speed by placing portals above and below them, then setting a new exit portal to shoot them across the room.

Not really a patch on Portal, although has some interest.
