Saw this posted on a different site, and hey, it's free.

Anyone want to bother trying it out?

I'll download and give it a try.

Here's another one: http://tremulous.net/
Not played it myself yet but the Consolevania blokes say it's pretty good for free.

Only played it a bit, but the introduction bit outlining the story is really shit. However the meat of the game seems good, it looks nice enough and isn't too complicated to control. It takes a bit of getting used to but the way you manipulate objects seems good. I spent ages trying to find the button to open doors before I realised you have to push pull them. Not played it much yet but it seems good for free.

Okies. Played it for a bit and it seems to suffer from Doom 3 syndrome (really dark, limited capacity for torchlight). I met a critter of some kind which munched on me until I ran away, so no weapons then. Not a big problem though. Then I got stuck in a 'point-and-click-what-do-I-use-on-what-next' way, so I turned it off and played BEEF. Went back to it again today to find I had to reload from the last auto-save 'cos there's no save option, and that the mattress I had to move to complete on of the puzzles last time suddenly couldn't be moved this time. I might not be playing it again.

We'll I've finished it now. It's an interesting concept, but not a great game. Quite short as well, as it's still in development.
