Allthough the "proper" dual core support and so on is going to be the main reason people buy it, especially hardware/gaming fanatics who want the best out of their machine.
I'm pretty sure I will find it on the floor at some point and try it out, as I really wasn't impressed with the longhorn leak

I'm still a windows user.
I've played with linux enough to know I don't like it and that it sucks for damn near everything I do.
Also, dual booting is a sin - I reboot *very* rarely (like, once every 2 weeks) and have no performance issues. ever.
As a sidenote bukkake has been running for over a year, and has been rebooted 3 times.
Personally I feel most of the problems with windows are (dare I say it?) User errors - Very little little really goes wrong unless you do something overly stupid, like use IE.
I don't have any problems with linux as such, it has it's place on other people's desktops, just not mine

user errors made all the easier through poor design and coding, but anyway...Dr. kitteny berk wrote: Personally I feel most of the problems with windows are (dare I say it?) User errors - Very little little really goes wrong unless you do something overly stupid, like use IE.
If it were not for games, I would have migrated from windows long ago. I like the infinate buggering about possibilities that Linux gives you (compared to windows). The only work type things i use a computer for is coding (which, as I do it largely by hand, can be done on aything with a text editor) and graphics/video stuff (which I much prefer the Mac for).
But alas, if you want to play teh geams, you're damn limited if you dont have windows.
This was my plan recently. I installed Fedora with the full intention of having it as my non-gaming desktop and discovered that it doesn't like my network ports. So I have to try to solve that before I can use it and compiling new kernel modules is not my idea of fun.Johnny27 wrote:I dont want to be a jerk guys, but you better use windows only for games. It doesn't worth for anything more.

You choose a product (redhat or fedora) that is mostly used for server management.
I don't to underastimate these two distributions, but for desktop usage in home or small office you should try other distribution like mandriva, suse, ubuntu, etc.
All these linux packages support most of network parts plus video graphics drivers and any third party commercially provided driver.
PS: I think we got off topic :-)
