Conquest: Frontier Wars

Post by Sticky Label »

Homeworld 2 was a flop on here, presumably at least slightly because people aren't comfortable with 3D strategy games. Does anyone else have this game, C:FW? I used to play it alot, though not as much online.

It might appeal to EVE players, due to any game having up to 16 different sectors connected by wormhole-things, each sector about as large as any normal games map. Planets and meteors are primary sources of resources.

It has the usual mix of the three races, humans, Celareons (The high-tech aliens) and the Mantis (Bestial aliens like the Zerg, Xenomorphs and Tyrannids).

Aaaanyway, it's quite fun, and if anyone has a copy, to hand, or maybe on the floor, ham and cheese would be apprecate by myself. :)

oooh, we used to play this off and on at uni

Was quite fun, if a little fucked balence wise. They may have sorted that out though, I think we were running totally unpatched versions.

If I can find one (on the floor) I would certainly be up for some RTS action there.

EDIT: I have found a floor source, but its damn slow. By the time this has downloaded, we may be able to go off into space and do it for real, but I shall persevere.

I'll reinstall it soon. Get used to the control system, I guess.

The human/high tech/low tech triangle is fairly classic, not just starcraft. Anyway, it's not on such a small scale. People (Crew) are a commodity in this.

I have to admit though, it does feel quite a bit starcrafty, just bigger scale.

But hey, it's not like thats a bad thing.
