I like the increased amount of AP, it allows you to either have a long go on the game, or do quick bursts whilst at work etc...
From quite literally talking to the natives, it seems the best bet is to by the body building skill, and the melee skill, rack up some XP, then look into the wide variety of skills/classes the game has to offer.
It's not just about kill counts and gaining XP, as there are a number of skills/classes you can use, and if one of us were able to buy the clan creation skill thingamy, we would very quickly and easily rise to the top of the stats page, and hopefully bring some more 5punkers onto our site.
I'm rather enjoying it narf

I'm in Dalpok, building XP before going out adventuring and making my way through the jungle and so on.
It's gonna take a massive effort to all get to one location, especially as none of us (I assume) have GPS units, which can then track your path on the map page linked above.
There is a map reading skill which would help, but I think we all need to build some XP before we try anything to dramatic.
Meeting up is a good idea though, so we need to find somewhere central on the map that everyone will be able to get to.
I'll have a look around and see what I can find

Quick tip, find a trading hut, and swap mangos, healing herbs, bottled water and other random stuff you find for cool stuff like cutlasses and machette's and so on.
This will help you get your inventory up together.
I'm just talking to the locals, chopping down jungle to gain XP, trading stuff I find, and waiting for the exploration skill.
Being a native warrior seems rather pleasant, and everyone else is really helpful, and give good tips if you bother to ask them stuff.

What class did you pick?
I think this makes a huge difference as to where you first start off on the map.
The wiki is quite good, and I'd suggest reading the main page, which helped me out quite a bit.
Some bastard outsider just killed me whilst I was sleeping in a healing tent
Not local???*
