Bloody Steam

Post by Dog Pants »

I seem to be having a problem with Steam. The other week I paid for HL2:E1 and got to the point where the download started before getting the message that I don't have enough drive space. I put this down to the fact that it wanted to use the C: drive for temp files, but I don't have a C: drive due to a cock up with my Windows install. After freeing up space on my second drive I renamed it C: (my OS is on D:) and managed to resume the process. However, now whenever I try to start the download I get a message saying the server is busy. I've checked the status page and it isn't busy. I've checked my firewall and connection status and must assume they're fine because it has the same fault with my firewall disabled and I can download the Shadowlands demo with it up. I also get this problem with HL2: Lost Coast.

Any ideas?

Try the things he did. If still no joy I'd go for a support ticket from Valve.

Hurrah!
It was just lucky that he needed that help recently- you can't search the steam forums for 'Busy' because it's less that five letters! :faint:
